Good Afternoon I have this Stamp with large borders , that I'm fairly confident is a scott 634. Its a beautiful stamp to me but the borders are large. Is that unusual?? I'm afraid of not having a legitimate stamp. Trein
The stamp is a single from a 634d booklet pane. Examples with large margins are often found in large mixes. Unfortunately, the Scott catalog does not list booklet pane singles until it was forced to for stamps issued only in booklets. As a result, few collectors seek them out and most examples remain in cheap mixes or as loose ends in a collection. The only exception, but not recognized in Scott are collectors of First and Second Bureau booklet pane singles who attempt to reconstruct a used booklet pane because complete used booklet panes from that era are rare.
The Scott catalog should list booklet pane singles.
The Scott catalog should list booklet pane singles. The Scott catalog claims to be "specialized" yet it does not recognize even to most basic of stamps. Most foreign catalogs list these - Clark and Angore are correct.
