While this may not be the venue for this post, I'm using it as this is where the problem occurred.

I just spent the last hour working up the next submission for the 1934 National Parks series thread. When I went to post it, I received the error message "Sorry, the site is busy and we cannot post now."

I tried to backspace to return to the posting I had created and was sent to a blank page.

There really should be some way to return to the previous screen without losing anything for situations like this.

Now, instead of being able to just hold what I had done, I will have to find another hour to recreate the post all over.

Hopefully, something can be done to remedy this?

On another note, there's a break in imagery requirements. The site recently upgraded the "Upload Image" to being under 300KB. Unfortunately, while the upgrade is stated, it is not in place yet. When you click on the link to upload images, it still limits images to under 200KB.

Just thought you would like to know.

Okay, now I'm confused and a little irritated. I can make small posts, like these two, without a problem. For larger posts, the site is too busy.

What gives?

I just tried to repost the next installment. I hadn't closed the preview window and had reloaded all the images (all of which were under 200KB) for the second try. The minute I hit post, the site was too busy...

When I'm doing a long post I save as draft as I go along. I hate to retype.

Guess:
I have a feeling this is a browser issue, if I recall.

I use Chrome, it happened to me once, prior.
I now use my "Swiss Army Knife"..."Microsoft Works" to type long discourses,
I copy / paste.

Microsoft works = Database, Spreadsheet, Text editor all in 1

Stampman2002,
The error page you are seeing typically occurs when the post contains something it does not like. For example, there are a handful of links that will cause this. Did your post have some links in it? If you want, email me the post content and I will look closer to see what is causing this.

I've had this same thing happen more than once. I also have taken to copying and saving the text I type at intervals in case it is lost.

I have difficulty navigating this forum. I sometimes use the back button to go back and check something then cannot return to where I was. Many times I need to just close the window then start over again. I get this both when using Chrome and Windows and don't get it on any other site. I've also tried to submit a post and forgotten to meet the system requirement number of characters in the title. The whole thing gets tossed.

Chrome is broken. It will not preserve textarea input upon using the back button. Normal browser behavior is to preserve it, Chrome is broken.

That being said, there was a false positive for spam coming from your post which prevented it from being posted. I apologize, very sorry for the inconvenience. I have since fixed the issue.

If you do not have a copy of the post still, I can send it to you. Let me know.

Okay, I give up. I saw that the problem had been fixed in the last posting here, so I attempted to again post to the thread. Once again, I was told the site was busy and no posting occurred.

There are no links and every image has been optimized prior to uploading. I can preview the post, but I cannot post it or save it as a draft.

The posting follows the same basic format I've used with the other postings to this thread; nothing new or different.

Is there something I'm missing here?

Having looked all other possibilities from my end, is there a problem with the thread?
