Hi Partime.
Have never found anything like this in all the kiloware I have sorted over the years.
Have no idea if there are any more of this type of off set around.
It is interesting to me because the off set is on the side + the bottom edges of the stamp.
Looks like it did not get a postmark but top right has a couple of very fine ink marks.
Am very interested if anyone has seen anything like this else where. |

The stamp is from a sheetlet and is the roo on the top far right of the sheetlet.
As the position mentioned is the only white & grey margin at the bottom of the stamp that it can be. |

Hi KGV. Nice example of mis-perforation or mis-die cut if you prefer.

Thanks Peter.
Tried your description in a search as well but the only thing I am getting in a search is this thread no matter what I call this stamp.
Contacted someone I know that is at the cutting edge of Australian stamping so the speak and he has not seen or heard of one either.
Have also been told there will be very little interest in the stamp.
As you can see no Aussie replies. |

Am going to take this stamp to the PO for a post mark.
As I do this to all recent stamps that I find with no cancel on them.
Am not hiding this fact.
Going to offer it outside Australia where all my good stuff goes. |

HI KGV I wouldn't think its very common at all and from a miss cut Booklet/sheetlet. Why have it cancelled? It is clearly used maybe post it up on Stampboards I am sure someone will have more information |

Hi KGV It would be silly to C.T.O. a stamp that may be a variety; placing a cancellation on that stamp and any value it may have will be lost, the stamp would be worthless. The stamp was issued for pensioners and the unemployed to be able to afford sending mail, it can only be used in Australia. The concession stamps allow pensioners and the unemployed to pay 60 cents instead of the current $1.00. Below is information about the concession stamp from Australia Post. https://auspost.com.au/parcels-mail...ssion-stamps |

Nice to hear that the stamp is clearly already postal used by the ink marks. Good to hear to CTO this stamp would be wrong and so it should be. It is too good a stamp for that as the description of very very fine used can be used but not after a CTO mark. Superb used....no not this stamp.
Stampboards is a place that not all people find friendly to be polite. Some of us are refuges from that place here and for good reason.
The UK & other part of Europe know more about modern Australia stamps than Australian's. That is my strong opinion!

I stopped collecting Australian new issues in 2000 but Australia post still get it wrong occasionally creating collectable varieties like this one. Might not be the in thing now maybe but who knows down the track? Maybe the editors of the Australian Commonwealth Specialists Catalogue need to know of its existence. Still a great modern Variety |

The gummed/ sheet stamp concession pair found in mini sheet is not so common.
Originally printed for the PO year book only.
Some have leaked out. Have 200 of them. Many used. |

Hi KGV I have been collecting varieties for many years and I can assure you that a variety (unless it is tied to paper (commercially used)) must never be CTO'd; whatever value it may bring in its current condition will be gone. There will always be buyers for major varieties in MUH, do a silly thing by cancelling it to order and it will be worth nothing. Rob |

Totally spot on! Good to hear it. Thank you!
It is great so many people believe this stamp is postally used. |

Hi KGV Collector I have read where collectors have made incredible finds in kiloware, and finding this is no exception. The variety may have been caused by the paper moving out of sync or the perforator was not programmed correctly. I have seen a MUH concession stamp where the Kangaroo had a quarter of a tail (unfortunately I couldn't get the owner to part with it). I've seen your stamp on ebay, good luck. Rob |
