Here is a "one penny" New Zealand stamp with at least 3 plate scratches...Common or not..?

More than likely common. The plates took a real bashing as they were for the standard postage rate. Looks like you have the common 1904 printing (see the tiny red dots half way up the LH and RH margins of the stamp, opposite the pearls).

Your first picture looks almost like a partial guide line. The others look indeed like scratches.
