Hey guys came across this and brought it to my local stamp store. It's a CV 10 and we tested for a watermark and nothing showed up. It is possible there may have been something we missed but we definitely couldn't see one. I was told that this may be a pretty good stamp, a 444 I think he said? I'm not too sure though because of the watermark. Thoughts? Sorry for the bad pictures, they are the best I got, if we need better ones I can get better ones!

Looks rotary press to me, so can't be Scott 444. Can't quite discern the type from your pictures, but I'm guessing type III = Scott 492 (if unwatermarked). CV = $1.00, but value much less in poor condition like this.

Without a watermark and given the general overall appearance I would say 492 is the most likely Scott identification number. It has the appearance of a coil which went through a dispensing machine which was more typical for rotary press coils. There is a tiny possibility it is a Scott 491, but that can only be told with a better scan.
