I've actually accumulated several thousand copies of this stamp and have had fun seeking the plate varieties listed in French's Encyclopedia. One advantage of being a common stamp. Cheap thrills. |

chasa, I never thought it even had minimum value, but there is much to discuss. Compare right vert. side to the left vert. side!
Molokai, I also have accumulated a few hundred copies of this stamp. Cloudy discussed this stamp alot.

As well as the damage top left corner, I see an ink smear at the top left, coloring TED of UNITED, and another bottom right coloring the E of POSTAGE and the T of CENT. Also the line on the leg between the knees of the figure on the right appears broken. Is this what your are referring to? |

Hi GrandpaJohn, I'm using "Microsoft Digital Image Pro 9". Went thru misadventures with knowledgeable computer experts. Finally bought a used copy for $5.00 and took a chance. Best software I ever bought, works really good. Arrows can be adjusted to size, location, orientation, etc. Unable able to add words to the arrows which would be nice, but what the heck, can add words and arrows at same time, even different colors.
Hope this helps.
Before I found this software, I used the sticky plastic arrows, then scanned. It works, and is very cheap, but I worry about the long term affect of the sticky stuff.

stampmaster, I'm not seeing what you are calling relief breaks. Your stamp looks like it either was printed from a worn plate, or it was under-inked. Here is a fully-inked #300 for comparison. There is a white spot on top of Franklin's head:   |
