What some catalogs call orange, others call yellow. Also, orange is a very fleeting color and the stamps' color may have lightened over time.

Hello, I am unaware of which catalogue you use. But I use the Michel catalogue. This catalogue gives two types of color ranges. A: Orange to Dull Orange(1866) and B: Yellow to orange yellow. Seems that you have a stamp from the B range, the 1864 cancel supports this. catalogue values appear to be the same.

Hello Petermegally,
Facit (my Scandinavian bible) lists a 600K printing in yellow in 1864. Your stamp has a '64 year date in the cancellation which fits the time frame for the yellow printing. Facit catalog number is 10g1 (there is a small printing, 1K, sub-set of lemon yellow listed as 10g2.
Kind regards,
Thomas (seafarer)

older stamps were printed over many years, and it was impossible to hit the exact color as the previous mix.
so old stamps (at least from scandinavia) come in many shades.
