Hi all

Recently I thought I had posted this one before, but cannot find it now?

So anyway, as I remember, there was a doubt of the lettering very near the bottom on the stamp in question.

I now have the ability to scan it correctly.

See what you think.

By the way, I used the search to try to find my previous posting, but cannot find it, could someone help me?

It was in "And the winner of the Understatement of the year"... a James Drummond post.

That's pretty minor. Not a big deal.
But, speaking of your posts.. the other day you mentioned being able to see better detail with your stereo microscope, and wishing that you could show those images. In another post, you've mentioned you SLR camera. Could you use you camera to take a marco photo thru the microscope? Through only one eyepiece, of course. Just a thought.

Hi littleriverphil, good idea, except the camera body is non functional now. That how I discovered I could use the lens as a magnifier.

I've heard of a device you can put on a microscope, then take a picture. But before I lay out some hard cash I was to see the results in person for myself. Now I don't mind spending hard cash for something useful like a new rifle and for something I've never encountered before is something else. I'm a hands on and want to be able to play with it first.

Keep up the thinking, my friend.
