British Newspaper Stamps?

are these newspaper stamps?
and do newspaper stamps in general have some value?
i seem to have alot, france, germany, belgium, austria (is mainly the only country where I can identify mine) (and no, I do not own any crazy high valued ones) Hongary (magyar kir) ,..
that is, if these are newspapers

Yes, cut-squares - Britain has never issued separate newspaper stamps.

You would not be wrong to think of the first one as a "newspaper" stamp. The 1/2d (halfpenny) rate was introduced in 1870 to cover printed papers (formerly Book Post) and the stamp impression would have been on newspaper wrappers at that time...books were 1/2d for first 2oz then ½d for additional 2oz up to total of 5 pounds in weight. Newspapers were 1/2d per copy no matter the weight.

Your second cut piece is from a postcard.

Yes, these are newspaper wrappers. They are rather nice, I think. Some have dates incorporated into the design - don't know why. There are numerous variations around.

Some very nice "Postmarks ~printed matter" there Ringo.

These are not newspaper wrappers. I believe 1d (one old penny) was the standard postcard rate, and these were printed onto postcards as a form of pre-payment.
