SO,
I have been chasing some of the few reds and greens I still need and there is a decent copy on
ebay, but it clearly has a canx but is described as "US STOCK TRANSFER-GREEN, MINT, RD369, NG, 1952".
I think most of us can agree 99.9% of all "Mint NG" reds and greens are simply uncanx but used. Drives me crazy.
This particular stamp has what appears to be an inverted straight line black canx horizontally through the middle of the stamp. As far as canx go, it is as good as they ever get - just barely there! I prefer used reds and greens for the most part.
I point this out to the dealer. The dealer replies "you are seeing things that I do not", so I take the time to take his scan and circle the canx and send it back to him.
He replies "I see something but do not believe its a cancel, sorry. Get a cert"
Huh? It is your stamp dude - you get a cert and quit selling crap lots on
ebay. Still want the stamp, but it is not mint.
This will come as no shock to many of you, but his name has been tossed out there several times in this forum for his inaccurate descriptions and dubious imperf and part perfs. I believe a few of you stated you refuse to buy from him.
Here is the pic from the
ebay lot:

Here is what I sent him highlighting the canx:

I fully understand things happen and if you are trying to push a buttload of lots onto
ebay you can miss things - it happens. But when a potential buyer points out your "Mint" stamp has a canx and you acknowledge you see something but refuse to change your mind?
MURMUR!
And I still need that *^&@#%@#)*!&@#& stamp.
