I've Inherited A Lot Of Stamps. Don't Know What To Do...

I've inherited a lot of stamps. Won't be surprised if they are ~2,000+. 6 huge...I call them books, there's probably a better term. inherited is also not the right word as my dad just gave them to me and he's still alive and well. He inherited them from his dad, who collected them.
I'm from Eastern Europe, currently living in Austria. As you might have guessed, 90% of the stamps are either from Bulgaria or the Soviet Union. The remaining 10% are from all over the place - France, the US, Canada, Cuba, Costa Rica, Serbia, Germany, I don't know from where else...
Now the question comes what to do with them. I'll probably keep 50-60 of the Bulgarian ones as they are very pretty and will make nice decoration or gifts and I really doubt the Bulgarian ones have any value, aside from the aesthetics.
The rest I intend to sell and that's where I need your help. As far as age is concerned, the majority of stamps are from the 60s - 80s, with exceptions. No clue about rarity. The condition of most is really good, but what do I know...
I walked into a few stamps / coin shops in Vienna, where I live, but I got the response that the stamp collectors' communities no longer exist, which led me here.

So here are my questions:
- Realistically speaking, can I expect the stamps to have any market value, keeping in mind 90% are Soviet / Bulgarian? I'm into watches and scotch and I know the immediate answer is "it depends on 20 factors" but any guidance will be appreciated. If you tell me I can't expect more than 1,000 EUR/USD for all of them I'll just keep them as I find them quite intriguing, as many depict historical events, etc.
- Are there online auction houses and how do they function? Do I need to physically deliver the stamps?
- Are there buy / sell forums that handle bulk quantities, as I don't want to handle individual stamps.
- Are there people who give advice online, even for a fee?

You are indeed correct, it greatly depends on the stamps themselves. One approach might be to post some representative images in the World Classic section of this forum and get some opinions as to value. We have some very experience and knowledge folks here who can offer great feedback based upon the scope of the collection what they see.

Without additi0onal images, my opinion is that your best direction is to give this hobby a try for a few months. This would expose you to the hobby so you can better understand if it is something that you might like and it will allow you to better evaluate the collection.

After going through 10s of threads here just like mine I am shocked by the low value of stamps in general :) Even if they were printed in the millions they are still objects with decades of history and memories behind them... I'll post some pics later, but by the looks of it I will keep the stamps and put some in frames, as some are beautiful, if worthless :)

It is so good to know that you have decided to keep your inherited stamps. So many people who inherit are only interested in dumping their inheritance for whatever they can get.

Enjoy the history and beauty of your stamps! Some of the most beautiful stamps I've laid eyes on turned out to be the most inexpensive. Just because they aren't worth much does not mean they can't bring you enjoyment. Have fun!
