Hello community-

I have attached a photo of what I believe are British stamps, but I am trying to understand the variations. Penny, Schilling, and Pence. I did some research on the following types of money, but am still trying to nail down the differences here as I have a bunch of older stamps like this

Assuming these are actual stamps from the UK or perhaps from British territories?

Thanks in advance for any guidance you can provide.

Thanks Don, would you consider all of these common stamps? Or do you see any value here based on the cancellations?

Much appreciated.

They are all common British stamps but I'll let other more knowledgeable folks reply on the cancel question.

All of the postmark cancels are only partial and not really readable for the most part - I don't see any premiums on them.

The accounting system of

4 farthings = 1 penny,
12 pennies = 1 shilling,
20 shillings = 1 pound

All British and all quite common, although the brown one shilling is less abundant than the others.

Britain went decimal in 1971. Before that, the monetary system was a stated above, 12 pennies making a shilling and 20 shillings making a pound. See the one bottom-left in the scan, is valued "three halfpence" an old-fashioned way of saying one and a half pence.

Top-right is a stamp from the reign of Edward 7 (note the bald head), issued 1902. All the others are his successor, George 5, issued variously between 1911 and 1936.
