There are several different ways of listing the geographic regions of the US. But this one is not one of them. My region of the US is not included. Some of us live in the MidSouth. Even "South" would be better than nothing. There are a bunch of states between "Southwest" and "Southeast." Mississipi, Louisiana, Arkansas, Texas. Sometimes Texas is included in the Southwest. Other times three of these four states, those except Arkansas, are considered "Gulf States." As I said, no uniform way of listing the geographic regions. So I'm not faulting the list chosen per se. But there needs to be something between Southwest and Southeast. Where would you put Arkansas?

Perhaps adding a map defining the regions?

I added 'MidAtlantic' and 'West' to the existing labels in rodgcam's poll for clarity.

Your "northeast" numbers might be high if people didn't read down further or see the map.

With the map to clarify, then the choice is obvious. Personally, my map would look different (it would have a "MidSouth") but there are so many different ways to regionally map the US that it is unrealistic to be dogmatic. So I will go and vote "Southeast" (though I think that most Arkansas would identify more with Texas than with Mississippi or Louisiana -- except along the Delta and SE part of the state).

Thanks, Don.

You should have included "The true north strong and free".
Or, "The great white north".

Yep, where do you put Canada or Mexico and further south? Under other?

Hi for what its worth, we who live in Nevada do not like to be grouped in with people from California!

Nothing wrong with California people, we here in Nevada are just way to independence, and think we live in the most beautiful state of all the states.

The feeling is mutual, except for the "most beautiful state" part.
