I put Northeast before I saw the map. I don't associate New York with mid-Atlantic.

edit - After a quick search, it seems to be really who and where you ask. Also it also may be part of states. The U.S. Geological Survey only places part of New York in the mid-Atlantic.

Yeah, I got tricked by my hasty reading...Pennsylvania is not the Northeast as defined here. Must be voter fraud, do I get a "do over"?

Not to wander too far astray, but we've lived in 7 different states, ranging from the high energy, high density of NYC to the wide open desert of Arizona and have enjoyed the physical beauty of them all. Each state has its own sometimes charming, sometimes dramatic locations, which is why we also love taking road trips all over the U.S. Some views from our current state, including the view from our own backyard:

On a side note, for those folks who may not be aware that Nevada has some amazing views, below are some shots I took driving from a stamp show in Reno down through Vegas on my way back to sunny Scottsdale.

Henderson Nevada.

When I saw the survey I chose the southwest without even considering anywhere else. California is nice but for the most part we don't identify with it.

Anyone else from Henderson?

Hi Dry Tech, not from Henderson, but from Pahrump. I like Henderson, for some strange reason I've never figured out, Henderson has a lot of pretty women there. What is your secret?

Hi stampmaster! No secret - it's the water, pumped straight from the ground.

Actually, turns out that the pretty ones are also the smart ones who fled Vegas for a better quality of living to - that's right - Henderson.

Apologies to Vegas.

Sioux City, Iowa here. I'm afraid we can't compete with the scenery others have posted, unless gently rolling hills covered with corn and soybeans are your thing. Probably why I spend so much time with my stamps!

Lane County Coastline, Oregon

Clear lake, with 10,000 foot Three Sisters Mountains on the horizon

Considering I live in the Pacific Northwest, more specifically Lane County, Oregon, which goes from the Pacific Coast to the Three Sisters (10,000 ft), and does not take a backseat to anyplace in the country for breathtaking beauty, it is surprising that I work on my stamp collection at all.

I grew up in NYC and we never thought of ourselves as "mid-Atlantic." To us that was the Chesapeake region- Maryland, Delware, DC, No. Virginia. NJ was south of most of NY, and I know folks from Joisey definitely thought they were in the Northeast.

Now in Florida where culturally we think of ourselves as "too far South to be in the South."

Hi Dry Tech

It can't be the well water. We all have well water here in Pahrump! But the women look, well won't go into that now.

I can agree, no one here enjoys going to Vegas, too dirty and all the tourists, who lose all control when driving.
