I got this stamp in a mixed lot for 2 bucks.
I count the grill as 12 across and 18 down with horizontal ridges

can anyone assist and confirm?

Another thing....its on a piece of card, looks in reasonable shape, should I leave it or soak it off?

Cheers

It seems to be 12x16 and I'd positively soak if off the card so you have
a better opportunity to view the grill from the back of the stamp...

Thanks Disi, a bit concerned about soaking it for the moment, if it turns out to be another 94 f grill I will definitely!

Its the horizontal ridges on the grill that makes me think its a Z.

I'm on a larger screen than I was, yesterday, and now seeing a partial
row at the top, more typical on Z's, so a re-count would be in order...

However, I still would not go by what appears on the obverse...
it would be best to soak it and dry it flat (not with alot of weight
on it, obviously), then scan the back at 600dpi or higher, and post.

haha! I soaked it off the card, the dust and grime cleaned off the stamp and now I can't see any ridges of the grill.

It's a very nice looking stamp though, when it's dry I'll post the back up

In this case it is just easier to count the rows and columns. It is an F grill.

Absolutely agree... can only be an F and no other possibility.
