Attended a local Antiquarian Book Fair. Only bought two items. One is an early Thomas Pynchon book. The Crying of Lot 49. Which is sorta, kinda a conspiracy story involving private postal systems, with nods toward Thurin and Taxis.
The other item is this decent stampless cover.
The blurry line in the second scan is where the paper crease is. I didn't close the scanner lid to avoid squashing the crease.

The blue manuscript scribble in the upper right corner is the number 25 which was the rate at that time for letters going over 400 miles. The distance between Philadelphia and Circleville is around 500 miles. This letter was mailed on May 1, 1845 which went at this rate, the rates were reduced shortly afterwards, on July 1.
