I am in the midst of processing a large four carton estate lot and while I am the one benefiting from someones loss it is actually rather sad. It brought to mind the large number of estates that end up in auctions, or even worse tag sales, that have true value. Most of these end up there simply because of a lack of planning and the heirs not knowing what they have. My wife for example has zero interest in my collection and I can easily see how all of it could end up in boxes to be shuffled off to philatelic no man's land. Take the time to describe and assign values to your collection components making certain that you reference where the values come from and then store that inventory in a safe and secure place making sure that your family and loved ones know about it.
