This is a pane that is not currently listed in the Scott Specialized catalog.

It looks like FX-NY1a(i)(ii) (quite a catalog number!).

Hi Jim

Is this item listed anywhere?

I'm not familiar with these, but should not there be many labels instead of just 4?

Have you watermarked this item, what were the results?

Hi Stampmaster,

I'm sorry, you're kind of confusing me. You asked:

And the name of this post is:

Unlisted Registry Exchange label pane

And I started the post with:

The registry exchange labels are listed in the Scott specialized catalog, but this pane is not.

Hope that this answers your question?

It is not watermarked.

Jim

Hi Jim, since you said it is not listed in your Scott catalog, I was wondering if it was listed in any other catalog, or perhaps reference?

Hope you are not confused any more?

Hi Jim,

My apologies for not posting my response to your question last fall, but the article below had already been submitted for publication and I did not want to upstage the journal. This article was just published in the Feb 2018 issue of the The United States Specialist.

I can't claim this is the "definitive" answer, but it's one I think is close. To answer stampmasters question, I have never seen this item mentioned or cataloged in any other publication.

As noted at the close of the article, I would be delighted to hear from any one here who has an example of this label on cover.

Morning all,

David Churchman was the long time pressman for the Indianapolis Star. He had a basement full of vintage printing equipment. His hobby was making stuff like this some of which his son sold on ebay usually well marked as a facsimile or otherwise not original. Cannot say for sure it is his work, but the paper and perforations look very similar to some of his other material.

Best regards, Russ Ryle
