And idea which was the entire name of the company?

Btw. a German term for the perfin is lochung or lochungen, but they have a more specific term when it has been a company perfin (insted of official perfins - which have existed in Germany, Australia and some other countries).

I still don't know do this company's perfins has been perforated in some Post departments (at request - for companies) or they have been perforated in companies by themselves? In the 2nd case - do companies needs to get a permission from Post to make a perfins on stamps, or they just have used to do that without any special request or permission?

Hi Filipo,

your German Perfins would have been better directed here,
(Postmaster probably has a Flag, should any queries arrive)

Hope that helps

Thank you, PostmasterGS!

Thank you, Rod!

I will add here on thread scans of the complete covers... maybe somebody will use it for study... all possible versions of this perfin exist on 10 covers... a reversed, a mirrored... a mirror-reversed... a missed position...

Hello Rod.

It reads: Besucht die Reichsaustellung, Seefahrt ist not Koln 1941.

Roughly Translated: Visit the Seefahrt ist Not exhibition, held in Cologne 1941.

An exhibition which purpose it was to get men to join the Kriegsmarine(German Navy).

kind regards,

johan.

Yes, when a word can mean many different things, depending on context, programs have great difficulty.

"Seefahrt ist Not" is not just some saying. It goes back to a book written by "Gorch Fock" (Johann Kinau) in which he decribes the adventures of German deep sea fishermen in the end of the 19th century. The book was very famous and the term "Seefahrt in Not" was used for many fares eg. And the biggest German Naval Academy ship carries the name of the author even nowadays. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gorch_Fock_(1958)
