It's time to take off the kid gloves!

This is an 1893 triple rate cover to a foreign destination (Munich, Germany @ 3 X 5c rate)
paid using a scarce stamp on cover (15c Columbian) with an interesting illustrated corner card.
The directive for transport on the steamship Columbia provides a nice tie-in to the Columbian stamp.

It was backstamped twice in Munich for some reason, on April 23rd and April 29th.

I also collect the admission tickets to world's fairs and have both the 1892-1893 half dollars.
If anyone is interested in True mystery stories in connection with The World Columbian Expo. Check out the book: The Devil In The White City. It is about the first known serial killer in America, Dr. H.H. Holmes. Also, I saw that on the Biography channel tomorrow 6/13/08 at 8:00 pm central time is airing an episode about Dr. Holmes and his murder castle.

There were three Columbian Expo admission tickets on ebay recently which I was tempted to buy but I let them get away.
Would love to see some pictures of your Columbian Expo tickets!

I will scan them in over the weekend and post them. I think I have around 8 different tickets for 1893 WCE, 1 ticket for the 1876 Centennial Expo in Philadelphia, and 1 for the 1933 Century of Progress Fair. I would love to get a ticket for the 1904 Saint Louis Fair.

Here is a 1c Grant official souvenir postal card from the World's Columbian Exposition,
sent from Chicago to Strasbourg, Germany on July 28, 1893

with a 4c Columbian stamp to make up the 5c foreign rate!

The message is in German and has an illustration of the Mines Building at the Exposition.
