Hi,
I can't find this stamp in the catalogue and for some reason, it seems as if the stamp was printed with writing on back. It is imprtf and thick paper. Here is a picture of the front and back. Can anyone help?

There's a smudge on the back because of the hinge. Help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much!

Rachel

I believe that is a cut out from a piece of stationery, like a postal card. Hence the writing on the back,

Peter

I agree with Peter. Postcards with stamps like this first appeared in 1925.

According to my copy of the Michel Ganzsachen-Katalog Europa bis 1960, this imprint design was used on postal cards of Austria from 1925 to 1934.

As far as I'm aware there's no demand for postal stationery cut-outs in Europe.
