I am not familiar with Juan Canoura's forgeries of IFS stamps but msksur68 (Sunil Suri) and theforeigncoinman forgeries were all sourced from the city of Ilahabad/Prayagraj.

These forgeries typically have crude, often blurred impressions, printed in every conceivable color on toned/white wove paper. Also they have disproportionately wide margins and all are invariably imperforate and ungummed.

The Ilahabad Forgeries were first reported by Edward F Deschl, author of "The Comprehensive India States Postal Stationery Listing", in 2000 in India Post, the quarterly journal of India Study Circle for Philately.

For details, refer to the related article.

Have a set of Canal Zone overprints that look interesting but most likely are forgeries. One stamp has an inverted surcharge and the other has a doubled surcharge. The most glaring oddity is how Panama has been printed in both upper and lower case letters.

The letters of Panama are suspicious on these two also.

Looked at copies on the PF database and found forgeries of overprints are plentiful on Canal Zone stamps.

A common 3c carmine Admiral corner single (Sc 109) trimmed at top & left to transform into the decidedly less common used 3c imperforate from 1924 (Sc 138).

This one looks like he printed it himself... Very few Columbians have perfs like that. :)

Billsey, maybe those are the rare and highly-sought after "zipper perfs" that were an option at the end of the 19th century in case you wanted to reattach a stamp you'd separate from a neighboring stamp. Just zip it back together again! Truly bizarre. I have some "copies" or "reproductions" of stamps, and it seems to me that a lot of the manufacturers of such stamps just don't know what perforations look like. Or maybe they don't have access to a machine that can perforate correctly. Some of the worst I've seen appear to have been perfed using a sewing machine

Could it have come off or been taken off, then been placed back on?

Wouldn't really matter since the stamp looks to be a forgery. I expect someone spent some time trying to get it to look authentic.

Here is a forgery of the Saxony 3pf stamp of 1851. The creator was good at covering points of identification with a cancel, but the artwork is not quite right, and he/she missed a few important places.

There should be a period after the last "e" of Pfennige. At its highest point, it is on the same level as the tail of the letter...so it is either in the wrong place and is obscured by the cancel, or it is missing. Also, the bottom of the "N" in SACHSEN should have a serif on the right side. And, the space between the crown and the shield should have a series of regularly spaced vertical lines (hatching), which are lacking here.

Stamp is marked and has the name of BPP expertizer Tilo Rismondo, who certified stamps of Saxony and Austria from 1990 to 2017.

Hello GETTINOLD - The stamps you display are Panama stamps and not Canal Zone. Panama, at the time in the early years of their existence, had almost no quality control so there were many (a real lot) of messed up printings. If the stamp does not say CANAL ZONE someplace on it, then it's not. And even then, the early issues are heavily faked.

I have a Thai friend who shows a lot of interest in my stamps. She inherited a small collection from her grandfather. As I showed her some Morocco Agencies stamps, she wondered whether there were stamps with Queen Elizabeth from Morocco. She found a picture on Stamp Thailand. She also found this stamp with very nice fake perforations.

Also, the stamp shown from the back is not the stamp shown from the front.

Well, with these phantasy perforations the claim of rarity may hold very true.
