Hey everyone. My name is Chuck. I started collecting stamps over 25 years ago when I was around 10 or so. My godmother had gotten me started by joining me to a USPS postal club where I got mailed first day covers. From there I acquired old envelopes and stamps from elderly family members. Before my teens I stopped collecting stamps and coins. It's now 25 years later and a conversation with an old neighbor got me interested again. My old neighbor collected stamps and was showing me his collection which he subsequently sold due to him and his wife downsizing. However before selling his collection, due to him knowing I used to collect, he gave me supplies, some stamps and an album that contained sheets for commemorative stamps and another binder with sheets for all USA stamps, you know the kind of sheets that contain images of the stamp and some background information. Needless to say this was very kind of him and I've begun thinking again about collecting and will be going to my first local stamp club meeting this month. I have a lot to learn and collect but am looking forward to it. My current interests are commemorativr sets and first day covers.
