Hello all. I recently obtained a large collection of Canada sealed matched sets. Question is, what to do with them. Are there any errors to look for? Are they sellable simply as stamp value, or do they have any collector value to them. Thank you all for your answers.

Dave

There are numerous varieties on recent Canada issues so a variety hunter may be interested. As a dealer though I can tell you the demand for "matched sets" is low. At one time a large majority of Canadian collectors went after plate blocks - not so much now. You could be looking at postage - which is running 80% face or less.

Not too saleable... 50% of face in USD would be a good target to try for.

Someone offered me 30% which I thought was too low.

I know your PBs (plate blocks) are M-NH.
What about the rest of your collection, also M-NH ?
The reason PBs are not as popular as say in the 60s or 70s is that people do not want to spend $$ on PBs ! I have a big collection from my father and intend to keep them.
Each stamp is worth its face value when put on a Canada Post letter (incl tx!)....but when you want to sell, it is another story.....Chasa's proposal of 50% (US$) seems good to me. Good luck !

Thank you everyone for the helpful insight.

I have put them on ebay, with a target of 50% as suggested here. Thank you again!
