You might not be able to tell if its withdrawn or not, prior to the sale. Many auction houses (don't know about these guys) will make a sale announcement immediately prior to the sale, that certain lots are withdrawn, or make amendments to the description. I've noted that usually the online sale listing doesn't get updated prior to the sale for most houses.
I was actually able to find a couple items that I liked in the Aldrich Auction. I am pretty sure I won but haven't seen an invoice yet. I am glad one of their lots was put in the spotlight. I never would have looked at the sale otherwise.
