Thank you Cjusz_911. Just as I suspected, 12.25 like the Montreal Gazette printings. My earliest 12.25 is dated 1886, but does not have a dot. Of course it could come from the left column. I also have an undated 12.25 that has a dot, and matches your shade (depending on monitor accuracy).

SCF member Jogil and myself have been trying to determine if these perfs are 12.19, 12.25, or 12.31. I have been leaning towards 12.25 and you have helped confirm that.

After measuring a lot of Small Queens, of different shape or quality, I am of the same opinion as John Hillson, that the Montreal printings were not of a quality "so good as it was".......and that the perfs were of three compounds, occasionally reversed (so all over the place !).

Renden, I too believe Hillson is quite correct, but his dates are a bit off. The 12.25 is now confirmed 1886-1889. Last night I found an 1891 date I think is 12.25, but I will have to verify it again tonigh.

I think we, at times, are a bit off ! and we cannot return to the printing shops of the times ( I wish) and our scans are always a bit off....too - Rene
