Your pair is more ofa curiosity or a freak. It clearly has a horizontal row of partially punched through perforations at the top of the lower stamp. It is not an imperforate between pair.
Thank you Peter and wtcrowe. Without the high resolution scan, it would be very hard to see the strike from the front. Off paper allows for a view of the back which makes it a lot easier to see. This is one I soaked from the paper.
Not an complete imperf, but the fact that not one perf is missing is interesting. Because the perfs are all there and the placement on the stamp make it appear to be an imperf. How does that affect value?
Nothing to do with value but another odd thing is the the ghost perf in the photo. I noticed it when I scanned the front, and it looks like a loose perf, but it is there when I scanned the back too.
Thank you A2A. I was looking up invisible perforations and getting no where. I knew it was something like that. I will try "blind."
FOUND DEFINITION ... "Before all of the modern day self-adhesive stamps with die cuts, the sheets of stamps were perforated. All of the holes on the sides of the stamps were created by little metal pins that punched the holes.
Blind perforations are when the stamp appears to be missing the perforations, but if you look closely, there are traces of the perforation holes there. "
