Looked like it would be easy to plate, and the price was right-- $10, and saw this huge curl when I scanned it:

Only thing sad about finding a curl, is that it reminds me of my friend Art Launier, who passed on a couple of years ago, and posted a bunch of them before then, and I'm sure if he didn't have this one, he'd want it!

Take care, wherever you are, Art!!

Ray

Nice find! I'm partial to curls!

I picked up a curl last week also but am uncertain about the plating. It has some of the attributes visible of the 39L8 in the Stamp Smarter plating archive but enough differences to not be certain. Neither the Neinken photos nor the fact that the 79L8 has no photo in the Stamp Smarter archive helps matters. Any thoughts?

Hey Caper, the blur on your stamp is a match for 39L8 on Doporto's site, and I found an image for 79L8 on a Sigel power search in a large block. The blur doesn't look the same. I'll try to attach a screenshot here, but if it doesn't work try 79L8 at Siegel and you'll find it.

Looks like to me that it's 39L8. Nice catch and stamp!

I agree, 39L8 it is. Not too bad for $16 I hope.
