I found these in an old album that I am breaking up. There were a few good older Great Britain items, then I came across this one. It has pencil marking on the back, "this stamp is scarce". I'm not holding my breath ...

This next one is even odder. Almost as if a piece of foil was rubbed into a part of the surface, then part of it cut away.

And this is stuck to the back. Any ideas?

The Last item is a British "Cypher Seal" (4th July 1881)
Rather common, yours is in good nick.
I'll search my database for details.

First one unknown, but reads "Manchester Guardian Supplement"

Perhaps a supplement to the Newspaper?

For the second, a lead foil strip is threaded through two cuts in a document for cancellation as a security measure. The cypher seal protects the back is all.
