Hi,

Is the stamp on the right just faded?

Thanks.

Looks like it. Even the cancellation is faded badly,

Peter

Thanks for the replies, my catalogue only lists ultramarine which got me wondering.

Hi jony78

The stamp you have is what is known as a changeling, it may be a result of exposure to light or chemicals. The stamp on the left is the correct colour.

Rob

As with most early Australian/State/Colonial issues, there are plenty of interesting shades to collect on this stamp - they certainly aren't restricted to the catalogue listings.

Keep it - you will find more of that shade as your collection builds.

I would agree with Peter and Rob...a colour changeling, light damage.
