1942 5½d Emu. A block of 10 with the 6 stamps at left affected by ink stripping. All stamps are MUH.

Ink stripping is normally caused by residual cleaning fluid being left on the plate which prevented the proper adhesion of the ink and was lifted when the doctor blade passed over the plates.
With the exception of the "white wattles", this particular ink stripping was caused by weak plates and the wrong ink solution in 1937.
