While in Washington D.C. last week I dragged my poor family through the national Postal museum. While they didn't hate it they also didn't complain when we left. Here are some of the collections I got to see.

Sorry about the pictures but all their displays are behind protective covers that had a bad glare from the lighting.

Lucky you! Great items presented. I was able to see the British Guiana magenta in Chicago in 1986. It looked a whole lot better than it does now.

Nice! I'm fortunate enough to live locally to the DC area, and visit the museum at least a couple of times a year. My favorite: the nearly complete plating of the 10-cent 1847 on covers, from the Miller collection.

We were there from Oklahoma last Spring Break. Best part was when my non-collecting kids would see something and say "hey Dad, look, you have one of those!" They are paying attention to their old man. And they know the story of Owney very well, thought it was really cool to see him.
