Buying and reusing used hinges--yes, people sell them--probably not a good idea.

1.) Not necessary to wear curator's cotton gloves before handling albums and other philatelic materials, however, always wash hands first.
2.) Liquid refreshment in the area is a "no no".

Having a Double Yellow Head parrot flying around the house is also Double Trouble; not only does a 'fly over' send stamps in every direction but they also love to chomp on things! She can easily rip into a 2x4 and turn it into splinters and cracks open nuts with ease. Stamps, albums, catalogs, tongs, mounts, and hinges are all fair game 'toys'.

When you are replacing a stamp in your collection with a better copy and you accidentally remount the original inferior stamp. Not that it's ever happened to me...
