Here are images of the four stamps and two labels in a se-tenant block depicting paintings by Argentine artist Prilidiano Pueyrredón (1823-1870), best known for his costumbrist sensibility (the literary or pictorial interpretation of local everyday life, mannerisms, and customs, primarily in the Hispanic scene, and particularly in the 19th century), printed by photogravure, and issued by Argentina on January 29, 1966, Scott Nos. 792a, and 789-792.

Here is an image of a stamp honoring Russian/Soviet sculptor and medalist Ivan Shadr (pseudonym of Ivan Dmitriyevich Ivanov, 1887-1941), designed by A. Zavialov, printed by photogravure, and issued by Russia (USSR) on July 28, 1962, Scott No. 2619, Zagorski No. 2631, plus images of photographs of Ivan Shadr in his studio, and of his bronze sculpture entitled The Cobblestone Is the Weapon of the Proletariat (1927).

Here is an image of a stamp depicting "The Return" (1940), a painting by Belgian surrealist artist René Magritte (1898-1967), printed by photogravure, and issued by Belgium on April 20, 1998 to commemorate Magritte's birth centenary, Scott No. 1691, plus an image of René Magritte painting in his art studio.

Here are images of a first day cover bearing a stamp designed by Danish artist Ole Hamann after a pastel on canvas painting entitled "Maia" (1938) by Spanish artist Pablo Picasso (1881-1973), printed by photogravure (Courvoisier, S.A.), with a cachet depicting a portrait of Picasso by Austrian-American artist Alexander Rutsch (1918-1997), and issued by the United Nations for use in Geneva, Switzerland on November 19, 1971 to publicize the UN International School, Scott No. 21, plus images of the original painting by Picasso, and of a similar portrait by Rutsch.

Here is an image of a stamp depicting a portrait of Honoré IV (1758-1819), Prince of Monaco and Duke of Valentinois from 1814 to 1819, designed and engraved by Czeslaw Slania (1921-2005), and issued by Monaco on November 9, 1976, Scott No. 1035.

Puzzle: Credit for the original work of art used by Czeslaw Slania as a model for this stamp is given to the famous French rococo painter François Lemoyne (1688-1737), who died some 21 years before the birth of Honoré IV! Therefore, the actual model must have been created by another, unnamed artist (see image below). But who?

Here are images of the five semi-postal stamps in a set depicting ancient Persian art treasures, engraved and printed by Bradbury, Wilkinson & Co., and issued by Iran on January 30, 1948 to help fund reconstruction of the tomb of Avicenna (980-1037), Persian physician and philosopher, at Hamadan, Scott Nos. B1-B5. Note: UNESCO declared the ruins of Persepolis a World Heritage Site in 1979.
