Since the Windy City was a major philatelic hot spot with many clubs, dealers, and shows over the years I am sure there are lots of wonderful cindy's waiting to be shared.

Phil, I know I had gotten those from you a few months ago. I just didn't have a scan to post. That is what got me thinking of others. Plus an article I had read in Scott stamp monthly about NYC cinderella's. |

very nice. I have an Ameripex catalog in my collection. The stamps issued for that show are some of my favorites. Thanks for sharing. |

I've seen philb's printed on silver foil, too.
So, "largest stamp in the world". This looks like one of the rouletted China special delivery/express letter stamps, used. That would be a good one nowadays IF it's the 1914 stamp and not one of the similar looking receipts from later days. I remember approval dealer ads of the 1960s using "largest stamp in the world" as a come-on gimmick (one might have been Poland #922). |

Quote: No information on the National Letter Return Assoc ? Thanks and right back at you, Rod. EDIT: You beat me again. http://www.rfrajola.com/LenP1/LenP1.pdfMore than you probably expected; neat stuff. Back in the day, if unclaimed at the post office, the letter would often be advertised with other unclaimed mail in the newspapers (therefore the "ADVERTISED" handstamp found on period letters). If still unclaimed, they went to the dead letter office (another marking). So this scheme got the letter back to the sender, or was supposed to. |
