Here I am back in Australia an area I do not know. But I did well last time recognizing the surcharged 3 1/2d Scott 189 and the John Ash story. So I try again.

The stamps pictured look to me to be King George Vl Scott 169 cat. $.60
There is a type l and a type ll. Scarlet color

Or Scott 182 coil perforation scarlet cat.$.30. Scott 182B red/violet coil perforation cat. $.30 is also listed.

No stamps issued of King Edward Vlll except for the 6 rare ones mentioned in the last go around.

I will be interested in what informed collectors have to say.

Please excuse the Scott numbers. This is a case where Gibbons descriptions would be better suited.

The 9 stamps showing George VI include 2 copies of SG167 (the 5th and 9th), and the rest are SG184. They are all of minimal value as used stamps. They seem to bear no relevance to whatever the OP is talking about. He needs to use the Preview button before using the Submit button when posting.

Hello kevjon189

I see you're still trying to pull our chain, they are obviously the Die I (1937-38) and Die II (1938-41) George VI definitive series. The King Edward VIII stamps were ordered destroyed when the King abdicated. As John Ash was a philatelist he kept the only 6 in existence.

The ACSC values each stamp at $120,000 each, the block of 6 were sold for over $1 million.

Below is the block of 6 (they aren't part of my collection, wish they were).

Read this account of the Edward VIII block https://www.linns.com/news/auctions...d-stamp.html and you will find no mention of John Ash having kept any of these stamps. There was also a recent Stampboards article with more references here http://www.stampboards.com/viewtopi...f=13&t=77569

It appears that the block of six is now broken up.

Kevjon189 has already scored points over the sheet size blunder on the KGV VI- please do not keep giving him more ammo.

Regards
Frank

Hi Frank

I noticed the mistake but didn't have time to correct it, Ash asked for 6 stamps to be returned but the request could not be carried out as the stamps were sent to England.

The stamps I believe were broken up and sold separately.

Although Kevjon189 is acting the fool (he also posts the same ridiculous comments on another stamp forum), I will if necessary give some assistance, and it seems I am not the only person responding.

Whether or not he is given the time of day, he will still upload silly posts.

And he will not last very long there if he tries to post any of his nonsense. Stampboards members will tear him apart if he makes posts of the sort done here.

Regards
Frank

ps just noticed he has managed to come to Glen's attention already.

First, thank you Rob for remaining civil and not assuming that this fellow is a troll. We try to give everyone the benefit of doubt but the Mods will step in if and when trolling becomes a problem. Creating more drama is typically what a troll seeks, I see little value in turning it into a public spectacle.

If anyone feels like another member is trolling, they should simply ignore them. If it is really bothersome, please contact one of the Mods privately.
