Collecting launch covers (processed at a first day of issue ceremony) is a Big Deal in the USA, but has never really caught on in Canada. I prefer to have my covers signed by the designer, photographer, engraver, and / or VIPs present.

Why are they not popular? Perhaps it's because there is no interest? Or is it because most Canadian launches are by invitation only? Whatever the case, I've collected them for years and favour them over FDCs - any day.
