Unfortunately I only have a Scott catalog for these. For this issue it lists only pale gray & gray as the only color / shade

I believe this one is the correct shade & color

Are there other shades or is this one just faded / discolored?

SG lists it as grey and slate, SG100. SG only lists one option (other than the plate flaws).

Bridger and Kay's Five Reigns catalogue also adds a grey and grey-green option. I can check Robson Lowe in a couple days.

Thanks Cjd, after seeing the high resolution scan it looks like it's starting to rust on the front.

Appears to have some foxing and is toned, I think this stamp (second one) has lived a hard life in a high humidity environment.

I believe you are correct Don. First thing I did after seeing the high resolution scan is get it away from other stamps.

Both Yvert and Robson Lowe's Encyclopedia only list one color. (Robson Lowe adds a note that vignettes vary between grey and black.)

I can't think of anything else I have that would address this.

Thanks. I see the vignette difference.
