Purchased from SCF member "Revenuecollector" some years ago,
Posted then spotted by a Relation. (Not a stamp collector)

Shows the importance of Good headings for your thread titles, there's always people out there searching for the most abstruce things.................

Hi Steve, Don.
Thanks for the kind words.
It was obviously in a better place with family genealogy.
I did not even have to think about it.

Expensive though....a registered letter across the pond, is now $16.10 from Australia Post....Yikes.

I missed this when it was first posted last week. What a great stamp-related story, just in time for the holiday season. Very nice, Rod.

Yep, went back across the pond, arrived safely,
and ended up in Santa's stocking.

An awesome gesture Rod...well done.

You could be the poster-boy/spokesperson for the hobby; this demonstrates the kind of behavior that makes our hobby look great.

Sorry about the $16...they should've at least reimbursed you for this - but it will come back to you in spades...have no doubt about that...

Lovely words there Michael,
alas! the purchaser paid for the shipping..from Sydney

Modern families live all over the world.

I have received freebies from many members, Aussie Al, James, Jon, Rene, a huge cinderella lot from Ryan, Tony Mac.
(sorry for any I missed)

The hobby is in great shape for mine.

The biggest thrill was to rescue an old Workshop manual for a 1925 Dodge? something like that, at a boot sale for $1
I didn't want to see it go to the tip.

I sold it on ebay for $50, and the lady whom purchased it was so happy, being able to give to hubby for Christmas. That was a real Joy.

"Bring 'em back alive"

Oops! forgot "Postmaster", a freebie Michel catalogue! (just out of the blue) and finding those Turkey Catalogues ! for me.......Wow!

...Then there's "Random Acts of kindness"

I fill a glassine of stamps, and leave it hidden in the Gibbons catalogue at the Library...Pencilled "Free for you...enjoy!"
