So I was doing a Google search for certain stamps, and I came across this -- an ebay listing for a refrigerator magnet in a stamp design. The kicker -- it's my stamp, and made from my scan of the stamp! I might have to order one of these. (I'm not affiliated with the seller in any way. I just thought it was unusual.)

Hehe...Nice one. That is a gorgeous stamp by the way.
I have come across my stamp images occasionally on the internet, and I have seen one of my rare cinderellas copied into a catalogue.
No Fridge magnets yet :)
Musing: I wonder if that causes any problems going through the post? being magnetic etc.

You'd need to move that decimal point about 3 spots to the right for this stamp! Thanks, Rod. My only regret is missing out on the red version of this stamp that sold at the same auction at which I purchased this one. I made the mistake of setting the same max bid for both, allowing someone to outbid me on the second one. Probably missed a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. That auction in 2016 was only the second time on record that the brown proof had been auctioned (2005), and the red proof was previously unrecorded. |

What makes a particular stamp appealing? Some designs for me, have an irresistible, inexplicable appeal, This stamp / proof is one of them, it stands alongside the "Yacht" as among the best.
Are we aware of the engraver's name?

USPS actually sold refrigerator magnets of some stamp designs for a while. I bought the magnet of US #3169 (Bela Lugosi as Dracula), and it's on my fridge right now. |

Rod,
There remarkably little info out there on these issues. I did find some info about where they were printed, but nothing on who engraved them. |

I'd like to see #565 as a magnet. It is my favorite USA stamp.

I've got a printer and some magnetic paper. I might have to try doing my own homemade stamp magnets. |
