ebay item https://www.ebay.com/itm/253247590851 (Sorry, I haven't figured out how to save the link yet). Selling combo of stamps. Error Washington green line. Regular Washington stamp. And Frankin 1 cent. Somehow the Washington was noted as the error green line even though there's no green line anywhere. It actually sold for $200 BUT the buyer's ID is hidden for privacy.

Indeed, Washington & Franklin stamps are rarely offered in this condition.

Yes, I must have a hundred or so of these. Without even looking, I can guarantee that every one is in better condition. Now....what to do with the thousands of dollars.

They have one feedback as a seller. Pair of ladies jeans. This stamp listing with one bid the same day it was listed to a private bidder.

There is little chance that this listing actually sold and would be paid for. Until ebay starts vetting accounts, disallows people from having 30,40,50+ or more accounts, disallows people they have removed from coming right back on, and disallows the buying/trading/selling or existing accounts; listings like this will occur.

Now, now... mangled stamps deserve love too!

I actually paid $15 for the lot below on ebay (fronts and backs of same pieces shown), just to preserve and showcase the horror of human idiocy. Not only were the documents destroyed, but the person in question tore through the stamps. If the documents below were complete, you're probably looking at $1500-2000 retail for the group.

I had lots of fun with them at Chicagopex, showing them to dealers and other revenue collectors, and watching them recoil in horror. One of the collectors said "Yeah, I saw that lot on ebay. I just had to turn off my monitor and walk away from the computer."

It's the tragedy of what might have been (we won't mention the kilotons of revenue documents that have gone to the incinerator over the last century and a half).
