This is the type of patient that drives me crazy-- has matches for about 3 different positions, but can't be the one that it matches the best, 3L5, because the scratch or line between Orn A and B is in entirely the wrong spot for 3L5-- compared with the copy that I have.

The only other two positions with a scratch/line between A and B are 4R5 and 5R5. 5R5 is pictured with a single picture on Doporto's site with little detail, and 4R5 is not pictured. I've checked Siegel and the wonderful book from the Wagshal sale, and no other images of 4R5 or 5R5 are online I can find.

3L5 is a decent match with some of the marks in the lower right margin, near O/P

The poss match for 5R5 is the line/scratch in between A/B, but the double transfer in POST isn't a match except for the top left prong of the "T", which is a good match. Doporto's copy doesn't show any mottling in the upper left corner, and this patient has a lot of blurring/mottling. Doporto's description shows for 5R5 that 4R5 also has some double transferring in POST, but not as strong as 5R5, but I still can't know what it looks like without an image.

Hoping someone has a copy of 4R5 and/or 5R5 so maybe can help either confirm the 5R5 or rule it out. Will probably have to send this one in either way.

Or if you think I'm way off base, and it's a different position, please let me know.....I've been wrong a lot before, right Mr. Sinclair?

Thanks for your help in advance!! Always appreciate your help!
Ray

Ray, I think the portions of the vertical scribe line at left are a better match for 4R5 (as illustrated in Neinken) than 5R5.

Thanks Dudley...there isn't much to see on my stamp, but the dot is in the middle of the right scribe line, and Doporto shows 5R5's right in the middle of the two. I'm thinking I'm going to be able to cross 4R5 off my want list, but this one will go to Doporto the next time I send a few.

Thanks for looking and for your help here!
Ray

Received your mailing and very pleased here, btw....really excited about bagging the 4R1L!

Glad you like your stamps. I don't have either of those positions but I am more certain about my plating than I let on.

When I am done selling I may not have any blue stamps left. I do have some nice top row stuff that will be the last to go if they go at all.
