Another One

The first stamp is Latvia from the period around 1919/1920. Several Stamps/series were printed on banknotes. I believe paper shortage was the reason. You can find them with bleu or brown colors on the backside. Also maps were used to print stamps on.

The second one I am not familiar with, I think other members will explain.

First one is from Latvia, Scott 94. Printed on unfinished Riga Workers Council bank notes. ~1920.09.24 Surcharged due to inflation. There are color variations and the bank note on the back can be found in 2 orientations. Thick wove paper was used with stars and triangles watermark.

Advertising was printed on a fair number but not all New Zealand stamps of that period. This started in 1893, done on values up to the 1 shilling. Stamps in a sheet would have different ads in different quantities.

Specialist listings exist. There are at least a couple of colors. Some designs are common (Sunlight Soap) and some are scarce.

EDIT: This shows the layout of one setting of one pane, image from a Campbell Paterson New Zealand catalogue. Windows Update killed the scan setting on my printer, so I coudn't do this earlier. Note several styles of the Beecham ads.

Your Latvia stamp is a regular postage stamp from 1921 in Scott catalog #94
