I believe that the cancels shown below were applied by Lehn & Fink, Incorporated.
This firm made d-CON rodent control products, Hinds Honey & Almond Cream skin lotion, Lysol disinfectant, Pebeco toothpaste, Resolve, and many more.
Their manufacturing plant was located in Bloomfield, New Jersey.
The only issue is that they apparently used a lower case "x" instead of an ampersand character (&).
The lower case "x" seems to indicate a "&" instead of an actual initial of a word, to me at least.
I can find no company that manufactured a product containing narcotics with an "x" in their name.
Maybe whoever used the cancel intended it to be interpreted as a plus character (+)? Maybe that's how they wrote "&" where they came from?
Has anyone seen another example of this type of character substitution?
Jim
