Is there such a thing as a reference put out by Lighthouse Publications or by anyone using them that gives the catalog #s of the contents of each page for some of their more popular album page sets? I seem to recall seeing something like that on their website years ago, using Michel numbers for German pages. I'd be looking for something using gibbons numbers for their Great Britain album.

Before posting I did make some effort to locate something on their websites and via general search- nothing. It would help in my compiling a list of missing stamps now that I have moved my GB collection from Gibbons albums into theirs. Thanks.

Stamps,

I haven't seen anything like that. It would be nice like you say. I have been just "winging" it. Others?

I think I have seen such a checklist issued by Lindner for a few of their more popular albums, as a pdf file on their site.

Each Lindner album comes with a front sheet that lists the catalog numbers on each page. Which catalog it depends.....most are Michel , but Sweden is Facit numbers, Norway if Norgekatalogen (NK).

The problem with the last suggestion is- I'm not using Lindner, it's Lighthouse.

But thanks.

Apples, oranges . . . ? How to Peel an Orange. First core the apple . . . . :)

If Lindner does it, maybe Lighthouse does it, too. I'd ask them. Most album publishers are pretty good at replying to collectors' concerns, especially if the collector is using one of their products. Shoot them an email. A second possibility is collectors' clubs for the country for which you have an album, in this case Germany. Someone in the club may have already created the kind of listing you want. If the club is located in another country, using Google Translate will help communicate better. Perhaps an inquiry to one of its top officers would turn up something? But to me, the album publisher seems the best bet.

I would bet Rod has done this with his Steiner albums.

Yes, its possible, but Steiner pages follows the Scott catalog almost exactly, there's not really a need to do that...just have your catalog open while you're working.

This is what Jim Jackson did for the Scott International Vol. 1, which was very useful as it is very abbreviated compared to the Scott catalog.

Chris,

Very true.

I will eventually number my Steiner pages too so I can locate the page quickly when wanted to look up a stamp in a many page album.
