I don't mean to be trivial, and I am sure some of you may scoff at me over this, but I have a very limited budget, and my interest lies in material with minimal or no value, and I try to stretch my stamp allowance as far as I can.

I have an overseas seller that I frequently buy from, as he carries a lot of the obscure material I am interested in. As I was shopping his store last night, found quite a few items listed at .99 obo. As is the norm for me, I attempted to put in a best offer on several of these items, but was rejected by the ebay system with a "must submit an offer greater than .99c" (on a .99c item). I am confident that it is not the sellers doing, as he is very lenient with his acceptance of offers. (I normally pick up items from him in the $3-10 range, and he will always accept my offers of 20-50% discount)

Is this an ebay policy that I (and my seller) are unaware of? or perhaps just a glitch in the system last night?

you would think that if was an ebay policy, then he wouldn't even be able to create an obo listing at .99.

interesting - maybe just a glitch

Happy New Year

Send your seller a message and ask him. Maybe enter $0.89 or what ever your best offer is.

Kuhli, don't you mean $0.99? I think it would be hard to pay for a .99c purchase (unless you rounded up to a penny)!

Ebay's system does not accept offers less than a dollar. I don't know why it allows sellers to list something for 99 cents AND best offer.

I suggest you send the seller a message. I've had sellers put together special lots for me.
