I increasingly get the impression that some buyers are willing to work on extremely low margin or hope for a few surprise realizations.

Well, there is that and then you have every 3c dull red becoming an orange brown, every top or bottom row #26 becomes a #26A, here and there a #24 suddenly becomes a #21. Before you know it that POS ebay seller is making a profit and ready beat you again at the next auction.

And I would imagine NY Stamps has developed a certain level of confidence on how much stuff in a given lot can be (mis)represented on ebay for handsome margins. A knowledgeable collector inspecting this lot wouldn't take such a chance.

Morning all,

"Information shared is history saved" Boards like ths that permit this type of discussion contribute greatly to the future of our hobby. There are far too many digital and non digital forums and groups that keep such shenigans hidden. If we had this discussio on Twitter would it be called #philatelically us, too?

Personal opinion: Times and technology continue to change. Cursive is no longer always taught to our youth. Paper has given way to digital signals for the transmission of most communicatuions. Our biggest challenge is keeping our treasured relics of paper relevant to generations no longer using them.

Best regards, Russ Ryle
