I have a SG 1840 - 70 catalogue, but these watermark and perforation variations of the 1967 Kenya Postage Due set were released after 1970 and they don't show up in the current Commonwealth Simplified. If anyone out there has an East Africa catalogue or an old Commonwealth catalogue from 80s or 90s which still showed watermarks and paper variations would appreciate the SG reference numbers for the following:

1973 (20th March) p14x15 glazed paper
1973 (27th March) p14 chalk surfaced paper
1973 (12th December) p15 glazed paper
1985 (7th August) p14.5x14 ordinary paper

Much thanks

Hi,

In my old 1990 SG Part 1 there are:

SG D19-D22 chalk-surfaced paper p14x15 (13th July 1971).

SG D23-D28 glazed ordinary paper p14x15 (20th February 1973).

SG D29-D34 glazed ordinary paper p15 (12th December 1973).

SG D35-D40 chalk-surfaced paper p14 (27th March 1979).

SG D41-D43 Wmk w 14 p14 (December 1983).

SG D44-D48 ordinary paper p14˝x14 (7th August 1985 - 1987).

They were all printed by De La Rue except for SG D44-D48 which were printed by Harrison.

These listings may well have been updated in the last 28 years!

Nigel, these SG numbers are still valid for the 2017 Commonwealth Catalogue.

Thanks Nigelc. I managed to source the list of issuances and variations from this site http://www.thingspostal.org.uk/east...3dues-m.html It is quite detailed. Also the stamps that I had fitted neatly into their listings. Only problem was there was no SG ref hence I asked for assistance. The SG dates and stamp variations tally very closely with just one date out a bit. However according to the lists on the site above and my own collection, there are only 5 stamps in the 20/3/73 (they say 20/2/73) p14x15 glazed ordinary paper. The SG numbering SGD23-28 implies there are 6. My stamps are 5c, 10c, 20c, 40c, 1s. Am I missing one or was there a later addition to the set? Many Thanks.

Yes, there are only five stamps listed in my catalogue for this set.

There is no SG D26.

I guess that at a some point this number had been skipped in case a 30c stamp was found (or it had been listed in error and was subsequently deleted).
