In closing down our store, we sold our inventory through a north central auction house. Of course a few items did not sell. one in particular was a 1 Kr Baden silver grey. It has an APS cert from 2014 identifying it as a genuine used Michel 13b, with a small crease at top. The auction company listed it as Scott 19a. But after checking the stamp, Michel and Scott pre 1940 Specialized, it appears it should be Scott 15a.I know I should get a GPS cert as well, but am I correct to think Michel 13b is Scott 15a, not Scott 19a? German States was never one of my strong points, though Australian States are, and that is a toss up, so go figure...

Hi stampwiz, and welcome to the forum. I can not answer you since I do not have a correct catalog to check, but maybe you can post a scan of this stamp? We would love to see it,

Peter

Michel 13b is Scott 15a. A photo or scan would be really helpful to make sure.

One caution WRT certs on high-end German stamps -- if you're market is worldwide, you'll really need a German cert. An APS or GPS cert might be sufficient in the U.S. market, but they're not held in high regard by the international community of Germany collectors. Far too many are flat-out wrong. I typically throw them away when I receive them in a lot.

The stamp if it's Mi.Nr.13b(Sc.15a) should have the background lines.
If it's Mi.Nr.17b(Sc.19a) it should have a white background.
For comparison of the background ;below;these are Mi.Nr.13a&17c;
