I will be in NoLa in late February and am trying to find any stamp stores or Philatelic museums near the French quarter area. I'm coming up short and curious if anyone has any ideas?

I fear there's none - Hurricane Katrina took out the last one. There's this online business - http://stores.nolastampshop.com/about-us/

You also might want to check with the local club in the area - http://ccscno.org/

Yep. Katrina flooded out the last brick and mortar shop. When I went back to N.O. after Katrina, he was out-of-business. There used to be a shop on the West Bank (across the river) but he's not there either. As mentioned, there is a club in N.O.; there's also one in Baton Rouge, if you might be in that area.

Its kind of strange to me, to think of stamp stores in NO, and realize that there is no Weill Brothers presence there anymore.

For probably half a century or so, they were the stalwarts of stamp collecting in that area, and I know their store on Royal Street in the French Quarter was there for a long time.

Been by what was their shop lots of times! Unfortunately, when I got back into collecting, they were gone.
